Three Witches consists of three vintage electric kettles boiling sulfurous water, which is continuously replenished throughout the exhibition duration, filling up the gallery space with wafts of sulfurous fumes that follow visitors. This piece plays with common associations of sulfur with wickedness and evil, while attempting to loosen up such ethical value judgements to natural materials and female spirituality.
