This performance—or theater for empathy—is designed to provide a micro-simulation of immigration screenings, in the light of the proposed Muslim registry in the US. It seeks to offer participants a glimpse of what it means to be treated as a threat to society until proven otherwise. In the performance, a fictitious political organization, IBM (International Bureau of Migration), provides a fingerprinting service to register anyone who has ever moved from one place to another without registering as a "migrant." Caught up in a bureaucratic and invasive process, the participants find their lives' most intimate aspects being probed under a legal microscope.
