Orchestra for Two Caves
Act of slowly calling the names of the previous stations in a moving subway train, Seoul, South Korea, 2010
I intended to juxtapose and mirror my throat and the subway tunnel as two caves resonating with one another, creating a polyphonous orchestra. The subway line number 2 of the Seoul Metropolitan Subway, which was the site of this performance, forms a circular loop known to be the most heavily used subway line in Seoul, South Korea.
This act was later turned into a 2-channel video installation with two cone-shaped hanging structures, facing the video of my throat and that of the subway tunnel.
